Litigation
Sharp, creative litigators are always in high demand, from junior-level attorneys to Counsel and Partner positions. We consistently seek litigators practicing in the areas of: general commercial/business litigation, securities, white collar, employment, antitrust, health care, insurance coverage, product liability, IP and real estate. Experience taking and defending depositions and substantial law and motion practice are always highly valued, as is first or second-chair courtroom experience. At any given time, we typically have dozens of open litigation positions throughout the state of CA with firms large and small.

Labor & Employment
A specialty of the firm, we consistently have opportunities for attorneys at all levels with strong L&E litigation and counseling experience. Experience litigating various discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, wage and hour claims (including class-action) at the state and federal levels is preferred. Of course, Partners with portable books are always of interest and we’re confident in stating that we can almost always successfully place such candidates.

Corporate
The corporate legal market is doing remarkably well and we are certainly seeing this reflected in our active searches for attorneys at all levels. The typical transactional experience desired for these positions includes managing matters such as: M&A, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, project finance, corporate governance, securities offerings and other general corporate matters. Those with experience in industries such as renewable energy and health care are of particular interest to many of our client law firms and corporations.

Real Estate
As the economy continues to improve, the commercial real estate market has responded accordingly. Development projects of all kinds are clicking on all cylinders and many projects that were stalled for years have now come roaring back to life. This is an exciting time in the real estate market and, with all this activity, junior to mid-level transactional associates are being sought for many growing Real Estate departments throughout California. We are seeing consistent openings for candidates with experience in the following areas: acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing (lenders and borrowers), leasing, mezzanine loans, mortgage loans and CMBS (commercial mortgage backed securities).

Intellectual Property
IP work is typically divided into two distinct, but related categories and we always have positions for qualified associates in both areas. “Soft” IP issues typically revolve around copyright litigation, trademark prosecution, licensing, and portfolio management and enforcement. “Hard” IP more often deals with the scientific/technical aspects of law and include dealing with matters within the technological arts: biotechnology, biochemistry, medical, mechanical and electrical devices, pharmaceuticals, computer sciences, information technology and wireless technologies. Such positions require appropriate advanced degrees (Ph.D., E.E., M.S., etc.).

Bankruptcy
Given the historic state of the economy, bankruptcy law has seen a significant spike in activity. There remain numerous positions available with large and small firms seeking experience in the following areas: representing parties in complex financial and operational corporate restructurings (both in and out of court), representing debtors, committees, secured and unsecured creditors, shareholders, investors, and distressed asset sellers and bidders in various bankruptcy/restructuring matters.
