Seeking Litigation Partners

My firm is currently seeking established Litigation Partners with a portable book of business.

I am offering an opportunity to join a thriving and growing law firm with a number of very attractive factors working in its favor. Having just met with the firm management today, this is a very fresh assignment and the firm has a TON to offer!

THE FIRM: The firm has multiple offices throughout the country and enjoys an excellent reputation, both locally and nationally. Locally, the firm is located in Century City and has approximately fifty attorneys, working across a number of different practice areas. The litigation group represents about half of the office and maintains a very diverse and broad-based practice. Some areas of focus within litigation include: complex commercial/business disputes, entertainment (soft IP), products liability, class actions, insurance coverage, white collar, employment, etc.

WHAT IS NEEDED: The firm and I are really looking for Partner-level candidates who can be at least 50% self-sustaining, or pretty close to it. With billing rates expected in the $400-$600/hour range, that would mean that the portable book would need to be in the range of $500K – $ 750K. Ideally, the level of experience would be 8 to 10 years and beyond.

As for desired area of experience, it can be flexible, although there is a priority for an Entertainment Litigation Partner with experience in trademark/copyright and related litigation matters (audit experience would be a plus). The transactional entertainment group is very busy and they would love to add a litigator with that specific skill set to help with disputes arising from those clients.

WHAT IS OFFERED: An opportunity to work in a collaborative, ego-free environment with other like-minded Partners; a competitive compensation model that rewards you handsomely for work you handle, personally, as well as generate for the firm; a very realistic and approachable billing rate that will allow for continued growth of your book; support and encouragement from the firm to build your book and seek out new clients; a beautiful office space with top-notch amenities and friendly, engaged support staff.

This is a terrific opportunity for a young, hungry Partner with a burgeoning book OR perhaps for a Partner that has simply hit their limit at their current firm due to any number of constraints (billing rates, conflicts, glass ceiling, etc.).

Please feel free to reach out to me today and I’ll be more than happy to discuss (confidentially, of course) this and other opportunities.
